Large deficits are often viewed negatively by international rating agencies and economic observers. High government borrowing can distort interest rates and support non-competitive firms, while persistent deficits increase the national debt, diverting a substantial portion of government revenues to interest payments. This leaves future generations with a heavy debt burden.
